A wonderful CD to accompany the Field Guide or just to enjoy the bird songs. It is a great gift that I received over ten years ago and I have used the Bird Songs CD many, many times with the Field Guide and binoculars to identify the birds in my yard and neighborhood. I recently bought this CD as a gift to my sister in PA. She, too, loves it. The narrator clearly announces each bird's name before the bird song is heard. The audio is excellent and more than one bird song/call is presented if the bird has multiple calls. Educational and enjoyable!

My new CD stays in my car along with the booklet to tell which track has which birds. Track 21 plays both Fish Crow and American Crow - the different sounds are very clear - so I feel more comfortable in identification. I know this will help with more birds in the future too!

Bird watching is so much more enjoyable now that I've learned many songs and calls. I can ID 20 birds just walking though the woods without seeing any of them. I hear a 'good' bird and then can track it down with the binocs.

This was purchased as a gift for an avid birder and she loves it! She is in upstate NY (Schenectady) and has really enjoyed identifying the birds in her area. The recordings are very accurate (it's Cornell after all).

I have been listening to this cd and using it as a reference for over a decade. I learned a great many bird calls from this disc and I now have a wildlife career with the help from this CD! My only complaint: The calls are separated into birds groups so if you want to hear one particular call over and over, you have to listen to the entire group over and over. You can't listen to just than one call. With that said, this the best quality bird call cd in the US!

Awesome. Enjoy listening in my car while going to and back from work. Has helped me identify many birds, that previously I would only identify visually. quickly going through the tracks after a birding trip helped me ID a few birds that I wouldn't have.

Great to listen to in the car- already added a few birds to my short list. It is worthwhile for sure.

Freud, an Austrian neurologist, founded psychoanalysis. He is best known for "his theories of the unconscious mind and the mechanism of repression." Freud created the clinical method of psychoanalysis for investigating the mind and treating psychopathology through dialogue between patient and analyst. Totem and Taboo is an interesting read for psychology students -- and those curious about Freud's methods and beliefs.

Totem and Taboo was originally published (from 1912-1913) in the journal Imago as four essays. These essays are "The Horror of Incest", "Taboo and Emotional Ambivalence", "Animism, Magic and the Omnipotence of Thoughts", and "The Return of Totemism in Childhood".I am neither a psychologist nor a trained anthropologist. I came to this book after reading Frazer's The Golden Bough-- a friend of my suggested that it made a good counterpoint, both in terms of period and subject. As a lay person, I found it clear and interesting to read. I have enough familiarity with Freud's basic theses that I did not find that I was lost.I found the last essay, "The Return of Totemism in Childhood" to be the strongest. At least for me, it was the strongest in that it synthesized the ideas from the earlier essays and drew the broadest ideas and conclusions.The Peter Gay biographical introduction was a nice refresher, particularly for someone who is not a Freud scholar.

This is one of my all time favorites! It's been awhile since I've read Totem and Taboo, from what I recall, it deals with the origins of incestial prohibition and sexual neurosis. Very accessible and concise!

everything that had to be said and written is right here...a MUST

Even psycologic, a brillant and surprisingly clear antrhopologic picture of human being. Universal.Full of hard data that contextualizes deep day to day common questions.

Very interesting and it also offers some very interesting insights to christianity but what's most important is that Freud explains though a bit fragmented how the psychology of the masses and the individual are like two vessels pouring in to each other. I highly recomend this book!

I've already had the previous edition of this book and I love it so much that I ordered this new edition too.In my opinion this is a must-have for any radiologist resident who needs the basics presented in a practical way, so that it can be readily used in daily work. I have hoarded quite a collection of handbooks, atlases and lengthy textbooks, but this is still the book that I go back to most often. It's full of useful info, presented in a fun and easily-digestible way and it gives you very great tips on how to differentiate between different lesions that look very similar (the hardest thing in practice and the absolute best thing about the whole book).The book comes with a code that you can use to register it, and afterwards you can read the whole content online everywhere or read it on your phone on your night-shifts.

I am a soon to graduate 4th year in medical school who just completed a month long radiology course. I got this book on a whim since I thought I was not learning enough. This book definitely taught me more than the whole month of staring at people read images. If you are looking for something that will teach you all the PRACTICAL basics that an INTERN will NEED to know when having to make a decision at 2am without the help of a radiologist, then look no further. Highly recommended by the Radiologist I shadowed for my last clinical rotation. Probably more information than I need as a Nurse Practitioner, but it will make a great reference to turn to when I need help translating the radiograph dictation results.
