Having purchased two single books earlier, I was very excited to find three more in a box set at such a great price. It made for a wonderful, rainy weekend of reading for the kids. Since you can choose your way, they read each book several times and never became bored. Highly recommend!
What amazing story telling!! My favorite is between the stars. We all need to buy the set and lobby for more adventure books expanding on the incredible story started in "Between the Stars!"....bonus...you can reread these books over and over choosing different paths and getting a new story...brilliant!!!
Good book but too old for kiddos
Even as an adult, I really enjoy the escapism of reading these interactive fiction books. You get to chose the direction the story will go in, which always adds an extra bit of entertainment value. (As well as the option to go back and reread the books as several entirely different stories!)This is a good collection of the D M Potter / Blair Polly books, and would make a great introduction to the many books of this type that they have written.This set allows you to : fly through space, and solve problems that will save both your spaceship and its sleeping passengers; slide down mountains to save your people from attackers below; and to tackle smugglers while on holiday on a tropical island.All 3 stories are great fun, and well-suited for reading by older children. I particularly love the way that these 2 authors also cram lots of educational material into their stories. So kids are learning lots along the way without even realising it.
My daughter absolutely loves these books, and you can't go wrong with the three-boxed set. (It doesn't say verified purchase because I bought them individually). She's twelve, and she's always asking me if DM Potter has written any more of these. If you've got a bright child, they will probably do as mine did: finish the book and then go back and read all of the choices. No cursing, no racy parts -- just good, clean adventure.
This was such a fun read. After I finished it the first time, I had to go back and try some of the other choices. So well written, so cleverly done, I both admire and fear the creative minds of these authors. It was a little scary having plot choices fall into my lap. But I think it ended up a roaring success :) I made it through in flying colours.This is a clean, fun adventure read. Able to be enjoyed by children and adults alike. Highly recommend!!
