Catch bless his soul is a damn mess. He spiraled so quickly. I was totally shocked and honestly wanted him to have some time to clean up his act before coming face to face with Lana. Boom bang bang she's there. Catch is a man on murderous mission when he see Lana's face being sucked off by this pipsqueak fella. Absolutely hilarious.I didn't appreciate his finagling of her re-assignment. A bit too presumptuous for me, my pseudo-feminist came out. His uber stalker vibes came back out in full force. An eye on her at all times, even if it wasn't his. I'm glad the plot communication problems were sorted out pretty early on because it would have been tiring. Catch has some serious problem and I wanted him to have a heart to heart with Lana most of all. I felt that the connection between them was lacking in true sharing. It was more by the way after alllll the steamy sex. Their connection was more physical than anything and I felt that this book could have focused more on them delving into each other's minds. Initially I didn't appreciate the way he became aware of Lana's past. He needed to hear it from her not outside sources with their unconscious spin on it.Again prudish me was a bit uncomfortable by some scenes but it wasn't the entire book you know. some had a specific purpose and I appreciated that. it obviously did draw them closer and at the end of the day you want you leads to head over heels for one another.Lana's angst and anguish wasn't enough. She too needed to find herself without the crutch that is their relationship. During that time it would have been fantastic for her to really come into her own. She just became the spineless human. Giving into the depression and what not. Before she could even begin to show us her strength and her coping with him gone... he was back.I had the thought that it wasn't the most healthy of relationships and this did make the turn of events at the end a bit disappointing for me. Love yourself and your own company. Go into the relationship whole or become whole while in one but it should be distinct. Your mental health shouldn't be so wrapped up in a relationship you can't function if that person is sent on assignment.I honestly love this author's writing tone and style. It's not hurried and just reads well.
I loved book 2 of Deep! You hope for the happy ending, but aren't sure it will go that way. Catch is a mess, Lana is a mess... The storyline makes sense. I enjoyed the characters surrounding Lana and Tristan. I would recommend these books to anyone interested in romance novels!
EXCELLENT book....part two in the series so buy both together as you will kick yourself if you don't.....hot sex...good plot and fantastic read....love her work ( these two books were my introduction to this fantastic author) but you really do need to have both books and read them in order to completely appreciate them.....
I loved how they had the angst between them. Wish that there was another love story to go along with this series
The author did a good job of finishing what she started in book 1.*Catch figures faces his fear of control issues.*Lana figures out her own issues that I didn't think she had. She had some obvious ones but her epiphany moment is more about what I didn't really think was a question.*There's more story between Adam and Scarlet. I was actually a little disappointed Scarlet turned out to be a "good guy." After her stunt in the first book of packing her contraband in Lana's ruck sack and getting Lana in trouble. That wasn't "good guy" material.*I was satisfied with the HEA except I wanted one more chapter or at least another page or two. I also think all books that end in a couple deciding to have an HEA should have one more really good romp afterward. That didn't happen here (as it usually doesn't).*In the first book, I found myself skimming through parts that contained the technical parts of her training. They were boring. There was less detail in the book.*Probably only a 4 star book but hopefully the extra star will help this author get more attention and then more likes.
Review was originally posted on The Writer's InkwellIt’s been awhile since I read Deep, but as I delved into this book I found that it was easy to dive back into the world of Catch and Lana. The story begins a few months after Lana’s departure from Station Six. We find Catch has been transferred to training Station Seven and is struggling to deal with the idea that he has lost her forever. However, a threat has arisen and the majority of the ships have been pulled the DEEP… including Lana.Station Six’s reputation is child’s play compared to Lana’s and Catch’s new home. Station Seven has a history of having the hottest “club†where everything goes and the rules go out the window. Despite all of the sexy men and women, Lana and Catch still only have eyes for one another. One of the best things about these books is the fact that both of the main characters are flawed and realistic. This makes it easy to like the characters, connect with their emotional rollercoaster, and to find yourself invested in their story as it unfolds. Despite having spilled his heart to Lana in the previous book, Catch finds it difficult to truly explain and express what he wants: to please Lana. It doesn’t help that sometimes Lana’s a bit dense in regards to truly hearing what Catch is trying to say as opposed to taking his words so literally. However, as the characters work through everything, the scenes get steamier and steamier.Jaine Diamond does a fantastic job with the character development, especially with Lana and Catch. This book allows the reader to begin to gain more perspective into the lives and thinking of some of the characters closest to the main characters. This development helps to strengthen the storyline and I found myself wondering if the author will continue on with Lana’s and Catch’s tale from their point of view or if she’ll begin expanding into other characters such as Scarlet, First, and Hilt. It’s obvious that the story is not over and I found myself eager to discover more about Catch’s past, especially with the devious Docker. I also hope to learn more about the back story of Master and Glory. The one thing I would like to see being developed is the storyline of what is going on in the universe outside of the training stations. As I got further into the book, I realized that the threat outside wasn’t explored a lot of the time and was more of a side story. Even as it came to the forefront, it was only for a few chapters. Despite my love of the characters and their storyline, I hope that to learn more about the world around them. My curiosity is probably because I don’t typically read erotica, but I also feel it’s due to the fact that the author did a great job of catching my interest in the story outside of Lana’s and Catch’s.Overall, this is a solid sequel and I would highly recommend this for any lover of romance and erotica. This love story and steamy scenes are bound to keep you hot this winter!Reviewer’s note: I received this book from the author, but all reviews are original and honest.
